New McDonald's Branch: Seawoods, Navi Mumbai!!!

Image
Blog No: 12 As I was going to my college 5 days back, while passing I saw a board sign which said opening soon. When I saw it clearly it was McDonald's and I had a huge smile on my face. That day only I decided, will go on the first day itself. I have always loved McDonald's and for me it comes first compared to KFC, Dominos, Subway, etc. If you have 100 Rs you can easily full your tummy in McDonald's but at other places it will take all your pocket money. I and my friends had entered today on the first day itself. It is just besides my college and 10 minutes walk from Seawoods station, Navi Mumbai. I will post the address below. There is no McDonald's in Seawoods and hardly we have any branch in Navi Mumbai which is nearby station. Either we had to go Vashi or some other place, for that we have to miss our lectures and next day we are in trouble. This opening of McDonald's is very special to us as we don’t have any hangout place near our college and from

Blog No: 11 Today was second day of my college for this academic year and this is the third semester as we have 6 semesters. I am happy that it is again started but it has been always a great challenge for me to get up early and catch my train. Sometimes I get my train on time sometimes I miss it, I know it’s my fault. On the second day only I missed my train from thane and i was late but luckily lecture was not started yet. I wanted to write this blog yesterday but as I had my project presentation today and i was not in a condition to write so I slept early. As I enter my college I feel happy and always have smile on my face seeing the infrastructure, classrooms, corridors, campus which is small but best and faculties ;-). College ground is my favourite place as it has given me lot of friends from different stream and playing together is always fun. Our college library is one of the best in Navi Mumbai and we have spent so many days by studying there. Today I and my part

A Journey From LTT To Gorakhpur Terminus: 9th July,14

Image
Blog No: 10 Recently I was travelling to Uttar Pradesh and it distance from Mumbai to Gorakhpur is around 2000 km. My train name was Gorakhpur Exp which starts from LTT at 6.35 AM. I travelled so far just for 3 days, and these 3 days I observed and experienced lot of things. The train already came late at Kalyan station and my destination was Deoria, one stop before Gorakhpur. It was almost 2 hours late when I reached my destination. It took around 40 hrs. During this 40 hrs i observed lot of things happening around: the train, people, compartment, foods and snacks, etc. The coach or boogie which I got was very old. Usually every train has charging points but this train didn’t have. Bathroom as usual was not cleaned throughout the journey. In two days of my journey I only went once for bathroom as I was not eating anything purposely :P. E ven the seats were not proper, it was torn or dirty. Even the windows of the train were broken, an accident also occurred because of these

Blog No: 09 Tungareshwar is situated near the village of Sativali In Taluka Vasai, in the district of Thane – Maharashtra. It is the Highest Mountain plateaus in Vasai. The Temple of Lord Shiva is on the slope of hill which is known as Tungareshwar Hill & nearby flow of Tungareshwar River & behind temple there is “Ram kund”. In addition to the ancient temple, river there is beautiful streams and waterfalls. If you want to reach to the temple or waterfall you have to walk 3 km as auto rickshaws will leave you at the entrance. Auto Rickshaw takes 30 Rs per seat. When we started walking I saw there are streams flowing down which was great; loving nature. It almost took more than 1 hour to reach Lord Shiva temple. Temple is well maintained and you will find small temple at the entrance and behind the temple. You will find lot of monkeys which are searching for food and if they find in your hand they will snatch it away :). After doing darshan we preceded our journey to waterf

Anstrengung United: A journey from NOTHING to SOMETHING!!!

Image
Blog NO: 08 It’s been long 3 years when we establish our organisation Anstrengung United. Anstrengung is a German name which means Efforts. When we started this organisation we never knew that we would come so far with very huge number of kids which we have today. When we started this we had only 4 kids coming to us and now we have 45 kids who come to us daily. There were times when had situations that we wont go far enough, but our efforts made it possible and kept our hope alive and now today we complete our 3 years and now it will continue forever :-) When we were in Khalsa college, Matunga we have always seen this kids begging around for food, money, toys or some or the other things. They wanted to learn but they never went to schools, they wanted to play but they never got time to play, they wanted to dance in every festival without any fear but they just couldn’t do all these because they always thought they don’t deserve and always keep begging instead of learning, pla

Prayers in locals - Mumbai !!!

Image
Blog No: 07 We always do prayers in some or the other way for some or the other reason. Prayers are done to thank God, to ask for some or the other help, to take care of health, money, family, friends, loved ones and many more. Some people pray only when they are in need, some people do as their moods is, some do it regularly but in Mumbai locals it’s something different and unique. As we all know life line of Mumbai or we can say heartbeat of Mumbai are local trains. Early morning people rush towards stations to catch their daily timing trains. Catching trains here is like winning a war and if you get a seat you feel like a king :-). We Mumbaikar’s are always short of time, and most of them always do multitasking. While travelling in these trains you will find group of people singing devotional songs. These devotional songs are sung by commuters while travelling into the train. They are all called as Bhajan Mandals. When the group is formed they start with the songs and as the

Review: Marine Drive - Mumbai: From Morning till Afternoon!!!

Image
Blog No: 06 Being a local Bombay boy, I have always been passionate about the places that you find here in the city and the small by-lanes and small shops that thrive in the heart of the city. I also believe that Bombay was far better than Mumbai because the city did offer you with the kind of options that make you feel special. However there are certain things which haven’t changed and that is Marine Drive. Well I want you to give you some information and my experience too. Mumbai is a city which is unique in nature and cannot be compared in the world at any rate. The title I have selected is for the reason that marine drive is not at just Mumbai but also at other parts of India as well as the world hence I appended the term 'Mumbai'. If you Google it you will find many places. Another thing is about the stones known as tetrapods which  were brought long back to reduce the wave force at the sea shore. Nearly 6,500 tetrapods was there at Marine Drive each weigh 2 tons
