Review: Pandavkada Waterfall - Kharghar Navi Mumbai
Blog No: 13
Nature has a very great impact on every one’s life and we are lucky to have some places nearby us. Recently I visited Pandavkada Waterfall which is in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Almost everyone came from our class which was really not expected ;). This is the second place which I have visited in monsoon and my first attempt to Pandavkada and it was quite good and safe from Tungareshwar.
To reach Pandavkada waterfall one has to catch train from Harbour line and get down at Kharghar station. Outside the station there is Kharghar depot, catch Bus No. 54 and get down at Pandavkada stop. Bus ticket cost only 9 Rs and within 15 minutes you will reach your destination.
After getting down you can see around its full of greenery and waterfall is clearly visible. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to reach near the wonderful waterfall. There is no difficulty in going there as it has a proper way. There is no risk and even small children can easily go through it. While walking you won’t find restaurants and dhaabas where you can have your lunch. You will find few stalls selling snacks that too above the MRP. So best thing is to pack your own snacks and lunch. You can sit on the beautiful grass and have your lunch. There are two streams which you have to cross on the way. Once you get to the falls, you can see the breathtaking greenery all around, sit on a rock, listen to the sound of water and enjoy the silence and do all the introspection in the world or else you are feeling more adventurous climb down some rocks and you land into a pool of water under the waterfall. If you are afraid to go the highest point there are two small waterfalls where you can enjoy.
It is amazing that such a beautiful place is situated in this town. It is not crowded as we usually see at other waterfalls. Navi Mumbai is one place where you will find lots of greenery. I want this place to have entry fee which should be minimum and that fee should be used for the development of the way and protect the environment. I hope this place is converted into a tourist place as there are lot of visitors would be travelling in Navi Mumbai when the Airport begins. This place should not be destroyed as we have done to larger part of the Earth already.
Thank you.
